KeepSnakes consists of two couples Leigh & Apple and Darren & Bridget. We have been friends for the last 15 years and we share the same interest in the keeping and breeding of Ball Pythons.
Leigh & Apple
Since the early 1990s we have kept many different species of reptiles, inverts and
amphibians e.g. Tarantulas, Scorpions, Frogs, Newts, Bearded Dragons, Leopard Geckos, Hognose, Garters, different types of Boas & Pythons including Chondro Pythons and more.
We aquired our first Ball Pythons in 2000 from a couple who we'd gone to see
about a vivarium we needed for our Frilled Lizard babies. When we got there we found
out they were also down sizing their collection and had two pairs of Ball Pythons
to rehome which they had been keeping as pets. We decided to give them a new home
with us and our love for Ball Pythons has grown from there.
In 2005 we aquired our first Ball Python morphs (an Albino and a Spider). Then in 2007 we produced our first clutches of Ball Python Morphs. For the past 3 years we have searched and added many quality bred Ball Pythons to our collection.
Needless to say the Ball Python bug has well and truly bitten us. They are incredibly enjoyable snakes to work with and we look forward to many more great projects with our ever growing collection.
Darren & Bridget
We first got to know Leigh and Apple through sharing the same interest in Dogs and after a while we also discovered that we shared the same passion for keeping reptiles and our friendship has grown from there.
We started keeping reptiles in the early 1990's, our first snake was a California Kingsnake and a little while after we aquired several Boa Constrictors. As our love for reptiles grew we ventured into the world of lizards, we have kept Asian Water Dragons, Iguanas, Plated Lizards and we have also kept Fire Belly Toads.
Leigh and Apple introduced us to the exciting world of Ball Pythons at the beginning of 2007. We started out with a single normal female and our collection has grown from there. The general good nature of these snakes is so endearing we are totally hooked!
Their genetics and wonderful colour morphs makes them a truly exciting snakes to keep. The possibilities seem endless and we hope to create our own undiscovered morphs one day.
We are now looking forward to our first hatchlings this season. We can't wait!!
